Chuck Berry collapsed on stage while performing in Chicago on Saturday night after refusing medical attention earlier in the evening.
The rocker’s rep, Andy Riesmeyer of CMG Worldwide said in a statement, “He collapsed due to exhaustion, he then came back out to the crowd and did his ‘duck walk’ dance before leaving for the night.”
Riesmeyer also said that the rock and roll icon was unable to finish the show.
He said Sunday that the 84-year-old icon “is fine” and he has returned to his home outside St.Louis.
Joe Roccasalva of the Chicago Fire Department said that they responded to call from Chicago’s Congress Theater before Berry took the stage and he added that the rocker didn’t want to go to the hospital and signed a refusal of service form.
