The makers of Toy Story 3 has proven that fans who have come to love the first two Toy Story films are still in love with Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the rest of the gang. Toy Story 3 grossed an estimated $41 million Friday night.
Based on Friday’s numbers, Toy Story 3 could possibly earn as much as $120 million for its first three days. Although official numbers won’t be out until tomorrow, one thing’s for sure: Toy Story 3 is Pixar’s highest-earning movie opening ever. It breaks the record of the 2003 movie “Finding Nemo,” which earned $70 million on its opening weekend.
The rest of the top five include “The Karate Kid,” “The A-Team,” “Shrek Forever After” and “Get Him to the Greek.”
