Larry King’s Wife left suicide note & empty prescription bottles


Larry King’s wife Shawn King was found with several prescription drug bottles and a handwritten note that police believe she wrote on May 28, the day she was hospitalized for overdose.

According to the police report, the Provo office who was dispatched to King’s home after Shawn’s dad called 911 saw “multiple pill bottles all of which were empty on the bed.” The bottles found at the scene included Ambien and some anti-anxiety medications, some of which had been filled within 10 days. Multiple bottles of water are also in the room.

Aside from the pills, multiple pages of a handwritten note that police believed may have been a suicide letter. The police report stated that the officer believed “had intentionally taken the quantity of pills.” The reported added that the note stated Shawn King was “leaving, or that she might hurt herself, such as that wished to be buried in Utah.”

On Wednesday, Larry released a statement saying, “I am extremely supportive of Shawn. Reports that we have fought are absolutely false. I love her dearly. Our marriage is still together and I am staying very close to our children, who we love immensely. We shall go through this difficult time intact as a family.”

Shawn’s father Karl Engemann told Access Hollywood that his daughter had “been out of the hospital for a long time. She’s great, she’s fine, she’s exercising, she’s happy. Everything is good.” He added that reports of Larry not visiting his wife while she was in the hospital are “not true.” He said, “He’s been in touch every day.”
