Sandra Bullock has been laying low since news of her ex-husband’s infidelities has dominated the tabloids, but for her first public performance at the Spike TV Guys Choice Awards Saturday night followed by the MTV Movie Awards last night, Sandy received a standing ovation for both events.
The Oscar-winning actress made a surprise appearance at the Spike TV Guys Choice Awards in LA Saturday night. After weeks out of the public eye, she came out with a bang accepting the Troops Choice Award for ‘Entertainer of the Year’ from Robert Downey Jr. As for her acceptance speech, Bullock said, “Let’s be honest here, just for a moment. We’re all going to be honest, right? Did I win this for being entertainer of the year, or did I win this because of the spectacular I.E.D. (improvised explosive device) explosion that became my personal life?” She continued adding, “No, it’s OK. Because I would do it over again if it was to entertain our troops , and our extraordinary troops deserve something much more than some actress in a tight dress talking about herself.”
At the MTV Movie Awards, the 45-year-old actress also received a standing ovation when she accepted the MTV Generation Award. The actress used her acceptance speech to clear up some rumors. She said, “No. 1: I’m not dead.” After the speech, Bullock kissed Scarlett Johansson, which made the audience roar in approval. She ended the speech with, “Now that we have done that… can we please go back to normal?”
Spike TV’s “Guys Choice” event will air on June 20.
