Gary Coleman died last week at only 42 years old. At the time of his death, he was estranged from his parents Willie and Sue Coleman. Now Gary’s parents are seeking answers on what happened to their son leading to the time of his death.
The couple told People.com that they’ve been trying to reach Gary’s wife Shannon Price, but she has not returned their calls. The couple talked to Mike Fleeman of People magazine and said they want to know how he fell and other circumstances of his death. Sue Coleman said, “We’re not pointing fingers at anyone, but we need to know exactly what happened,” adding that they were seeking closure.
Coleman died last week in a Utah hospital from brain hemorrhage after a fall, which left him unconscious and on life support. Police said there is no investigation underway because there was nothing suspicious about his death.
After becoming a household name playing Arnold Jackson on “Diff’rent Strokes” in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Gary Coleman’s life after the show included years of financial, legal and health troubles. From 1989 to 1993, Gary Coleman and his parents were fighting in court after the actor sued his parents for “misappropriation of funds.” He won and was awarded $1.3 million, but has been estranged with his parents since.
