Michelle Williams and Naomi Watts are both getting read to play Marilyn Monroe on the big screen, but they’ll be portraying the iconic bombshell in two different films.
Naomi Watts has been cast in the biopic based on Jayce Carol Oates’ controversial semi-fictional memoir of Monroe entitled “Blonde,” while Michelle Williams will have her shot on the movie “My Week with Marilyn,” which tells the story of Marilyn’s time spent in England filming the 1957 film “The Prince and the Showgirl” with Sir Laurence Oliver.
Although Marilyn Monroe has been portrayed in various magazines, TV shows, music videos and small films by stars like Madonna, Mira Sorvino, Charlize Theron, Kylie Minogue and even Lindsay Lohan, no one has tackled the role of Marilyn Monroe in a big box-office production…until now.
Scarlet Johannson has reportedly declined the role of Monroe in “My Week with Marilyn,” but Watts and Williams are up to the challenge to represent Hollywood’s sex symbol. So how do you think would give Monroe justice?
