Billy Ray Cyrus is defending his daughter Miley for the video clip released by TMZ where then-16 Miley was seen giving 44-year-old “The Last Song” producer Adam Shankman a sexy lap dance during the movie’s wrap party last year.
Billy told TMZ, “It’s what people her age do,” adding that his daughter was just “having fun” when she was grinding against Shankman.
On the video clip, Cyrus was seen giving the openly gay producer a lap dance, then Shankman was seen grinding up against Miley who turns around and seductively opens the top layer of her shirt. Last year, Shankman and Miley also raised parents’ ire after tweeting pictures of themselves in saucy poses on the set of “Last Song.”
Although many people were still shocked at the video clip, this isn’t the first time Billy has defended his daughter for Miley’s questionable behavior. In the 2009 Teen Choice Awards, Miley was put in the hot seat for pole dancing. Billy explained, “I just think that Miley loves entertaining people… I give my kids a lot of freedom to make the art they wanna make, and make it in their own voice. I think it’s important.”
After releasing her video “Can’t Be Tamed,” which critics said as an attempt to break away from her “Hannah Montana” image, Miley was once again put in a bad light. However, on Monday, Miley told MTV News that her dad “loves” her racy new music video, in which she wears skimpy corsets and dances sexily with guys and girls. Miley added, “They were so proud of the treatment that I came up for it.”
