Top 4 Performs “Songs of the Cinema” & Duets; Crystal back in the game

The top 4 American Idol contestants tackle movie night with mentor Jamie Fox. Crystal Bowersox won the judges over for both her solo performance and her duet with Lee Dewyze.

Lee Dewyze opened the show with Seal’s “Kiss from a Rose,” but didn’t wow-ed the judges much. Bowersox sang a hit-worthy cover of “I’m Alright” from the movie “Caddyshack.” All the judges loved her performance, while Simon Cowell told her she was “back in the game.” After her solo, Crystal and Lee Dewyze sang “Falling Slowly” by Glenn Hansard and Marketa Irglova, which received praises from the judges – fortunately for Lee.

Michael Lynche sang Michael Jackson’s “Will You Be There” and told Ryan Seacrest that he made the goal a year ago to make it to the top three, since that’s when the remaining singers go back to their hometowns, but Ellen DeGeneres dinged him for not stating that his goal was to win it.

Casey James became the joke of the night when he sang “Mrs. Robinson,” which turned the lights to Kara as the storyline for Casey revolved around him “liking” Kara. The performance, however, wasn’t slammed by the judges, but his duet with Michael as they sang “Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman” gave James and Lynch additional points.
