Kristen Stewart is the cover of Elle Magazine’s June issue and she’s more protective of her private life as time goes by. As for her upcoming films, the Twilight star continues to take up independent films like her next project “On the Road.”
The 20-year-old Stewart tells Elle, “I would never cheapen my relationships by talking about them. People say, ‘Just say who you’re dating. Then people will stop being so ravenous about it.’ It’s like, No they won’t! They’ll ask for specifics.”
Kristen recalled an incident saying, “Somebody knocked on my hotel room door and asked for a light, then said that they were a big fan. I was like, ‘Do you really need me to light your cigarette? How do you know what room I’m in?’ I can’t be by myself and I like being by myself.”
She also explained that people may think that she looks miserable in public, but she just feels “trapped” in the spotlight. Stewart says, “It’s not that I’m miserable, it’s just that somebody’s yelling at me. I literally, sometimes, have to keep myself from crying. … It’s a physical reaction to the energy that’s thrown at you.” As for the paparazzi, Kristen says “It’s insane! Once somebody finds out, you have to get the hell out of wherever you are. People freak out. And the photographers, they’re vicious. They’re mean. They’re like thugs. I don’t even want to drive around by myself anymore. It’s [expletive] dangerous.”
As for her upcoming work, Kristen Stewart still goes for independent films, even if she’s gone mainstream with the successful “Twilight” films. After indie films “The Yellow Handkerchief,” “The Runaways,” and “Welcome to the Rileys,” Kristen will be tackling the Walter Sales movie adaptation of Jack Keroauc’s novel entitled “On the Road.”
After “The Twiligt Saga: Eclipse” opens in theatres on June 30, Kristen will reunite with her “Twilight” co-stars to shoot “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” this fall. The independently financed $25 million film “On the Road” is expected to begin production in August.
