Los Angeles, Calif.-the music world is getting busy for preparing for yet another star-studded weekend, this time in celebration of the 52nd Grammy Annual Grammy Awards.
Music mogul Clive Davis is thinking of having a pre-Grammy party, which would be held after the nominations are announced. He likes to wait after the nominees are revealed so he knows who to invite in his exclusive bash.
“I think about who was robbed?” he says while preparing for the annual event at the Beverly Hilton Hotel this Saturday. “Who didn’t get Grammy nominations? Who should be part of the celebration of music of the year?”
It is expected to have a good concoction of varying talents at the upcoming gala. Last year, performers such as Annie Lennox, Kanye West, Whitney Houston, the Foo Fighters, Aretha Franklin, Kelly Clarkson and Johnny Mathis were among those present.
Davis is known to keep his guest list secret before the day itself, but this time he revealed one name: Harry Connick Jr., who’s going to share the hosting duties with him.
Connick, who had his recent album “Your Songs” done with Davis, says he’s looking forward to be part of the event.
“I don’t have a lot of close friendships in the industry because I don’t go out much,” says the artist. “I don’t go to a lot of parties, I’m usually working.”
