Reality singing competition ‘American Idol’ will hit the TV screens tomorrow, but Simon Cowell says he’ll be leaving the show for good after the upcoming season ends.
The Brit judge, who served to be the life of the show thanks to his nasty comments and remarks, says he’ll be focusing on his own reality talent show, “The X Factor,” which will be part of the Fox network next year. The said show, which he himself created, is already growing big in Britain.
Cowell will be working as the show’s judge and executive producer.
According to the judge/producer/talent manager, it would be difficult for him to work on both shows. He also expressed that his decision for leaving wasn’t easy, and he was even offered a salary raise by the show’s producer, Simon Fuller.
“I was offered a lot of money to stay on,” he revealed to reporters during a meeting of the Television Critics Association in Pasadena, California. “But that wasn’t the reason behind it. I wanted to do something different. I wanted a new challenge.”
