Brittany Murphy’s autopsy is complete and there were no signs of foul play. The cause of death has been “deferred” pending other tests.
On Monday, Los Angeles County Chief Coroner Ed Winter said that the autopsy of the 32-year-old Murphy, who suffered cardiac arrest at her Hollywood home on Sunday and was pronounced dead on arrival at 10 am at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, was complete but it would take 4-6 weeks before lab results are in and the official cause of death can be determined.
Winter said, about Murphy: “The cause of death at this time appears to be natural. We do understand that she had a bit of a medical history and we’re looking into all aspects of that. There are some other issues….which I can’t get into at this time. We will be conducting an autopsy either tomorrow or Tuesday, the final results will be pending the toxicology.”
The main issue the Coroner is interested in finding out is what prescription drugs were in Brittany Murphy’s system.
