Lindsay Lohan’s dad Michael was reportedly arrested in Long Island New York, while Lindsay herself is facing some steam after an LA judge is forcing her to complete her alcohol education classes by attending each week.
Michael Lohan is accused of violating an order of protection by calling his estranged girlfriend. Suffolk County prosecutors said Michael was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of criminal contempt, after Lohan called on Sunday morning. In June, a judge gave Michael Lohan a chance to avoid all the mess by simply staying out of trouble. Since his former arrest, Michael denied that he threatened to kill himself or his girlfriend if she left him. His lawyers argued that Michael was a victim of “fabricated claims” and that the ex-girlfriend called Lohan. Michael is due back in court on January 8.
Meanwhile, Lindsay Lohan is also have a problem with her former arrest. Judge Marsha Revel said at the LA Superior Court Tuesday that although Lindsay has been “in compliance” with the terms of her DUI probation, she’s not taking the alcohol education program classes regularly. The judge said, “I am going to order [that] this has to be done. It’s been long enough.”
According to Judge Revel, the 23-year-old Lohan, who did not appear in court, must now start “attending every single week” in order to fulfill the more than six months of program time necessary by Revel’s deadline of July 15, 2010. She added, “This has to be a top priority whether she has a job somewhere else or doesn’t or something else comes up. This has to be done once a week. Right now, the other things will take second place and this will take first place.”
The next hearing date to assess Lohan’s progress has been scheduled for Feb. 18.
