Nicole Richie is making a TV comeback, but not as a reality star. She’s going to create and star in her own comedy show!

The former “Simple Life” star is planning to create her own comedy program on ABC, whose plot “revolves around a young, modern and professional woman who must balance her business and family relationships.”

“I am so excited to announce that I am officially working on a television project,” the 29-year old star said on her official website. “I am creating a half-hour scripted comedy for ABC in which I will be starring in, as well as producing.”

The sitcom is currently in the talks with the network. Nicole, who has made other acting appearances on TV such as “American Dreams” and “Chuck,” admits that she’s also doing a bit of homework to prepare for her role.

Nicole is currently busy with her jewelry and maternity fashion lines, as well as being Joel Madden’s other half and mother to children Harlow and Sparrow.
