Real life couples in Hollywood usually don’t last as long as they want to, but it seems like Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon are trying to defy the odds and stay strong.

According to a rep for Gyllenhaal, he and Reese are still going strong, contrary to rumors that the two have broken up.

This was later confirmed by a rep for Witherspoon.

The couple made headlines during the weekend when People Magazine reported that the two had split .

Gyllenhaal and Witherspoon have been spotted going cuddly together for the past few months, but close friends say that the two have been going out for nearly two years already, after working together on the set of their 2007 flick “Rendition.” The two are now living together under the same roof.

While at the press junket of his latest movie “Brothers,” Gyllenhaal showed no signs of a heartbreak, as he was all happy and joyous while mingling with the press.
