After the record-breaking success of “New Moon,” lead stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart immediately sent their heartwarming gratitude to their followers all over the world via Twitter.

The latest installment to the vampire franchise earned a whopping $140.7 million during its opening weekend, making it the first non-summer film to break the box office records this year.

“Thank you for making NEW MOON #1,” Robert Pattinson tweeted. “It’s very exciting to be a part of something embraced by so many people.”

“I hope you are looking forward to ECLIPSE as much as I am,” he added.

A few hours Rob spread his online thanks, his co-star and rumored girlfriend Kristen Stewart joined the feed.

“You all have proven you’re the most amazing fans in the world once again. I feel so lucky to be part of The Twilight Saga and thank you for making us #1!”

“Yes, I twittered,” she followed. “Or twitted… tweeted? I dunno, but thank you sooo much anyway..!”

This was Kristen’s first time to join the Twitter world; Rob meanwhile has been on and off the Twitter-sphere since September, after taking over co-star Peter Facinelli’s account.
