Twilight fans have been anticipating for “New Moon” to be released on cinemas since the first movie “Twilight” was shown last year. The franchise’s much-anticipated sequel, which will be in theaters Friday, is already attracting record audiences for ticket sellers and venues across the country.

According to Fandango, several thousands of “New Moon” cinema showtimes have already sold out, making it the most Fandango has ever sold before a film’s release date. Unfortunately for Batman, Star Wars and Harry Potter fans, “New Moon” has now topped the record for the most ticket sales sold before a movie launch.

MovieTickets.com also reports the same information, with 2,150 sellouts for the film. “New Moon” now ranks #1 on the ‘List of Top 10 Advanced Ticket Sellers of All Time,’ breaking the record of “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith’ which has been on #1 for almost five years.

Fandango rep Harry Medved says, ““You could say that Edward and Jacob slayed The Dark Knight and put a spell on Harry Potterto take the advance ticketing crown at Fandango. Theater owners are continually adding new showtimes and posting them to keep up with fan demand.” Medved also said that 42% of 2,000 ticket buyers are surveyed as younger than 24 years old.

AmcEntertainment.com is also reporting sold-out tickets. The ticket service company is even planning on offering New Moon collector’s cups, T-shirts, tote bags, and posters at their cinemas.

Meanwhile, while the movie continues to sell tickets around the world, the “New Moon” stars are busy promoting their film everywhere. Here are the three main actors – Rob Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner – as they go around the cities completing their promo work.
