Comedian Will Ferrell has topped the list of celebrities whose returns offer the least value for money.

In a report by Forbes, Ferrell made $3.29 for every dollar he was paid after several box office disappointments. Other actors in the list include Ewan McGregor, Billy Bob Thornton, Eddie Murphy, Ice Cube and Tom Cruise.

The only female star to make it into the top 10 was Drew Barrymore at seven, whose average return amounted to $7.43.

Forbes calculated the actors’ estimated earnings against the performance of their films to come up with the list. Box office performance, DVD and TV rights sales were all taken into account.
