Whether you’re from Team Edward or Team Jacob, it’s always exciting to see everyone from the film in one place. That’s what exactly happened yesterday at the Los Angeles New Moon premiere…and we’ve got plenty of pictures of New Moon stars right here and bits of interviews straight from the red carpet.
Twelve months ago, exactly on November 17, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and the rest of the Twilight cast were overwhelmed by the number of screaming fans at the premiere of their first Twilight film. This year, as “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” was unveiled in the Westwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, the cast is ‘quite’ ready for the mania, but still feels the experience is “unbelievable.
Kristen Stewart said as she signed autographs, “I’m not as scared as I was last year. At some point, the security guy said, ‘This is very unsafe.’ And I was like, ‘Uh.’ Other than that, everything was cool.”
Robert Pattinson said, “And it seems different to me because we have done this world tour in the last week and it has just been unbelievable in every single city. It is about 10 times bigger than any other city in the world.”
Taylor Lautner, who becomes the lead character for “New Moon,” said he was also amazed by Monday’s fan response.
“It’s the amount of passion. It’s not normal.”
Aside from RPattz, KStew and Taylor, almost everyone from the New Moon cast were there, including werewolves/shapeshifters Chaske Spencer, Kiowa Gordon, Alex Meraz, BooBoo Stewart and Bronson Pelletier. The supporting vampires like Elizabeth Reeser, Jackson Rathbone, Peter Facinelli, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed and Edi Gathegi were also there on the red carpet with the Volturi clan (Jamie Campbell Bower, Cameron Bright, Dakota Fanning, Charlie Bewley, Christopher Heyerdahl, Michael Sheen and Noot Seear). The actors that play humans in the movie, such as Anna Kendrick, Christian Serratos and Gil Birmingham, among others were also present.
Of course, Twilight Saga author Stephenie Meyer, the screenwriter of New Moon Melissa Rossenberg and New Moon director Chris Weitz were there to launch the film.
Hundreds of fans, even those who were not able to score the 800 tickets for the premiere, crowded onto street corners near the Mann Village and Bruin theaters. They sat on beach chairs, displayed homemade signs and wore T-shirts proclaiming their allegiance to either the handsome vampire played by Pattinson or his werewolf rival, Taylor Lautner.
Plenty of pictures from the event by Wenn.com. Enjoy!!
