The stars seem to shine brighter for Taylor Swift as she dominates the Country Music Awards-and even making history for winning the title of Entertainer of the Year.
The 19-year old country cutie transformed into a historical figure in the world of country music, as she is the youngest recipient of the much coveted award. Not only that, she also swept major prizes including Female Vocalist of the Year, Music Video of the Year for her hit song “Love Story,” as well as the Album of the Year for “Fearless.”
“I’ll never forget this moment because at this moment everything that I ever wanted has just happened to me,” Swift, who nearly burst to tears, said while receiving her award.
“I want to thank every single person here tonight for not running up on stage during this speech,” she meanwhile said while accepting the trophy for female vocalist.
It can be remembered that rapper Kanye West infamously interrupted her acceptance speech when she won the Best Female Video award at the 2009 VMAs.
Despite the fame and success at the awards night, Taylor remained to be down to earth, stating to the media that she would forever be grateful. “I feel so lucky. This has been a fun night,” she said.
Among the other contenders for the Entertainer of the Year award include Kenny Chesney, who previously enjoyed a winning streak for bearing the said title for three consecutive years.
Other winners include Darius Rucker of Hootie and the Blowfish, who bagged CMA’s New Artist of the Year award for his debut country album, “Learn to Live.” Lady Antebellum meanwhile grabbed two awards including Best Vocal Group and Single of the Year. Brad Paisley also won two awards, Male Vocalist of the Year and Musical Event of the Year for his “Start A Band” duet alongside Keith Urban.
