It’s been nine months since the controversial assault which led not only to bitter falling out between former lovers Rihanna and Chris Brown, and while the Brown was vocal about the issue, it is only now that Rihanna steps out from keeping mum about the issue.
“It was humiliating… I felt completely taken advantage of.” She describes the ordeal she went through in an interview with Glamour magazine. “I felt like people were making it into a fun topic on the internet, and it’s my life.”
According to the singer, she not only fought an emotional battle, but a public battle with the press and all the media exposure particularly when photos of her beaten face were uploaded on the internet.
“At some point you are there alone. It’s a lonely place to be-no one can understand,” she recalls. According to the “Disturbia” songstress, she has been getting strength from the people who believed in her during the past months. It was also the time she reunited with her faith.
Rihanna also opened up the positive that spawned from the cruelty she endured from Brown and the public who offered nothing but scrutiny. “I’m stronger, wiser and more aware. You don’t realize how much your decisions affect people you don’t even know, like fans.”
