Musician Elton John cancels American concert schedules with Billy Joel as he battles a serious case of e-coli infection and flu, according to his official website.

The 62-year old hit maker previously cancelled a series of shows in the United Kingdom after suffering from flu-like symptoms, and has recently checked into a hospital to fight the illness.

His spokesman however clarified that he is “absolutely fine.”

John has spent the past few months performing with U.S. musician and fellow hit maker Billy Joel for their “Face 2 Face” tour. John and Joel have three scheduled play dates in Portland and Seattle, but now have to put their concerts on hold due to his flu. The tour was already postponed previously due Joel’s “flu-like symptoms.”

John, whose hits include “Candle in the Wind” and “Skyline Pigeon,” entered a civil union with David Furnish back in 2005.
