What’s Scarlett Johannson’s 25th birthday gift to herself? A new item to add to her portfolio – a Broadway gig in the Tony Award winning production of “A View from the Bridge.”
This December, Johansson will make her Broadway debut as a lovesick teenager named Catherine. She will work alongside Tony Award winner Live Schrieber as her lustful uncle Eddie. This 2009 production is the third rialto revival of Arthur Miller’s 1955 drama.
The last two revivals of ‘Bridge’ have earned the actors Tony nods and awards. While the original production, which starred Oscar-winning actor Van Heflin and Eileen Heckhard, didn’t get any Tony awards, the 1983 production landed Tony Lo Bianco a Tony nomination for lead actor and the production was up for best revival. In 1997, another Bridge remake won the Tony for best revival and Anthony LaPaglia won lead actor Tony with co-star Allison Janney receiving a Tony nod.
We know Scarlett can sing. She’s been performing live to promote her album. But, do you think Scarlett Johansson would be working it on stage for a Tony?
