Amy Winehouse’s dad told British TV show ‘This Morning’ that his daughter is a completely different person from who we all saw parading in the streets of London last year. According to her dad, Amy is now doing well both inside and out, including her recent breast augmentation.
On Wednesday, Mitch Winehouse spoke to British TV show ‘This Morning’ saying that his daughter is “Fantastic, fantastic. Her boobs are great as well.” He then smiled and said, “I shouldn’t have said that should I? She looks absolutely fantastic.”
When asked if the operation really cost Amy the rumored $56,000 , he shrugged saying, “I don’t know. I didn’t have to pay for it – that’s all I know. Whenever I see her, she says, ‘Dad can you give me a couple of hundred.’ [But] I didn’t have to pay for the boobs. I don’t know.”
Amy Winehouse is now working on her third album, after facing a divorce, clearing assault charges and spending several months in St Lucia.
Although her taxi-driver father was proud to say that Amy hasn’t “been sick now for a year,” Mitch admitted that their battle is still ongoing. He explained, “There is no total recovery. It’s a recovery. It’s a slow, gradual recovery. If you look back to where we were a year ago, you know we are in a different planet. We are in a different space and a different time and a different person. We all are. We’re all recovering.”
Mitch Winehouse is currently making a documentary about families coping with drug problems. When asked to give advice to other families coping with addicts, he said, “The best thing we can do for our loved ones who are addicted is to maintain that normal family atmosphere. Why should they feel guilty? When the person has recovered and wants to reenter the family they don’t want to see a family that’s destroyed, and that can happen.”
