Kanye West, who has been out of the public eye for a few weeks now, is a hot topic over at Twitter not because of the Taylor Swift incident, but because the rapper-producer is reportedly dead.

Rapper Kanye West isn’t dead, but the “RIP Kanye West” is still the hottest-trending topic on Twitter. The rumor bombarded on the social-networking site after a fake Fox News homepage featured an article claiming West died at 32 years old in a plane crash in Los Angeles.

Girlfriend Amber Rose was quick to debunk it, posting to her Twitter account that “This RIPKanyeWest topic is not funny and its NOT TRUE!.” She also made another tweet saying the topic is “in extreme poor taste.”

Although Rose has denied the reports, users continue to flood Twitter with “RIP Kanye West” tweets, transforming the hoax into spam in less than a day.
