After several weeks of rumors that Avril Lavigne’s marriage is on the rocks, Avril has filed for divorce from husband Deryck Whibley.

According to reports from TMZ, the document obtained revealed that the 25-year-old Lavigne cited irreconcilable differences, ending their three-year marriage. The “My Happy Ending” singer lists their official separation as Sept. 4 and did not ask for spousal support. She also indicated that she doesn’t want to pay Whibley any money.

Last month, Avril posted a message on her website saying, “I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship … Deryck and I are separating and moving forward on a positive note.”

Whibley, the 29-year-old singer of Sum 41, also made a statement on his band’s MySpace page with the message: “Our decision to part ways is amicable and she holds a special place in my heart and forever will be a great and amazing friend.”
