Zac Efron shot to fame with the Disney ‘High School Musical’ and ‘Hairspray,’ but is now trying to prove that he’s more than just a pretty face with a good voice. The actor shows off his serious side with the film “Me and Orson Welles.”
The film, which is set in New York in 1937, follows a young actor named Richard Samuels (Zac Efron) who enters the world of theater upon landing a role in Orson Welles’ Broadway production of Shakespeare’s ‘Julius Caesar.’ Things began to go downhill for Samuels when he falls for a beautiful older woman, a production assistant (played by Claire Danes) who is hired to help him learn his lines.
Directed by Richard Linklater, “Me and Orson Welles” was based on a book by Robert Kaplow that follows Welles’ success in opening his Mercury Theater.
“Me and Orson Welles” will hit theaters by end of November. If you haven’t checked out the film yet, watch the trailer below.
