Country singer Taylor Swift announced Thursday that she will be extending her “Fearless Tour” up to 2010.

The 19-year-old Swift has performed sold-out crowds throughout 2009, after becoming a top-selling U.S. artist in 2008. She announced Thursday that she will tour Australia in February, performing five shows before returning to North America in March.

In a statement yesterday, Swift said, “I’m so excited to take the ‘Fearless Tour’ back out on the road again in 2010. This year’s tour has been so much fun and even more unforgettable than I ever imagined.” Her announcement came as she closes the 2009 leg of her tour in the United States.

The 2010 tour starts on February 4 in Brisbane, followed by a Sydney concert and other Australian cities, before returning to U.S. to play in Dallas, Philadelphia and Los Angeles. The tour ends on June 2 in Washington DC. As of October 2009, there are 40 dates scheduled for Swift to perform next year.

“Fearless” the album has sold more than 1.5 million copies in 2009.
