Adam Lambert may have some of the craziest fans we’ve seen – topless women and fans throwing bras, panties and sex toys at him – but they do have good hearts, as demonstrated when Lambert’s fans raised $229,000 for public schools across the country.
DonorsChoose.org, an online charity organization, announced earlier today the winner of a contest launched by the singer, where he urged his fans to help out for the greater cause. The competition made Lambert’s online fans compete against each other in a battle to see who could raise the most donations. As for the winners, they’ll be rewarded with a special chat session with their favorite American Idol runner-up.
In the last four weeks, about 1,956 fans fulfilled requests left by teachers at the website in efforts to gather school supplies for art and music projects. The ongoing donations, tracked by the Lambert Leaderboard, awarded the LiveJournal community called ONTD_AI, which raised a total of $82,700.
Lambert said, “I am unbelievably moved by the generosity and resolve of my fans, who have donated beyond what I could have ever expected to help students around the country.”
