The child that Jude Law conceived with model Samantha Burke last year has reportedly been born in New York today.

Law’s ex-lover gave birth to a 5lb-12oz baby girl. Burke’s publicist Eileen Koch told People mag, “Samantha is overwhelmed with joy at the arrival of her beautiful and healthy baby girl, Sophia. The baby and mom are doing wonderful.”

In July, Burke announced the pregnancy and Law confirmed that he had a brief relationship with the 24-year-old model. The actor said he would play a “fully supportive” role in the child’s life, even if he is no longer involved with baby girl’s mom.

Law already has 3 kids with his ex-wife Sadie Frost, whom he divorced after seven years of marriage in 2003.

Burke has been filing updates about her pregnancy on a personal blog, wherein she denied she was a “gold digger,” stating, “I didn’t choose to publish the story of my pregnancy. Not once did I ever think about the money side of things.”

Jude Law currently stars as Hamlet at New York’s Broadhurst Theater.
