
Patrick Swayze will be honored in the tribute to be held at the Dirty Dancing North Carolina Town of Lake Lure.
Patrick Swayze passed away in his family home in California Monday night, September 14, 2009. Tribute for the ‘Dirty Dancing’ star will now begin next week, starting with the free memorial at Firefly Cove, which represented the film’s Camp Chimney Rock. Those who attend are only asked to make a contribute toward the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in Patrick Swayze’s name.

Patrick Swayze battled 20 months of pancreatic cancer, but still managed to star in the first season of ‘The Beast’ and has co-written a memoir of his life with wife Lisa Niemi entitled “The Time of My Life,” which will be available in stores September 29 involving his career in Hollywood, his conflict with alcohol and his cancer battle.
