With Director David Slade currently working with the Twilight stars to turn the third Twilight book ‘Eclipse’ into a film, Ashley Greene is confident that the 2010 movie will be attracting more guys compared to the first two Twilight flicks.
Ashley Greene, who plays Alice Cullen in the Twilight Saga, talked to MTV last week, saying that she’s been getting battered and bruised on the set of Eclipse. “Going into [a movie], I’ve never had to work so hard with stunt training and personal training and stuff like that,” Ashley said.
Despite the body aches, Greene remains excited with the new director’s vision of Eclipse. If you have no idea about Slade’s work, some of his notable films are thriller flicks “Hard Candy” and “30 Days of Night.”
Greene said of David Slade, “He’s been really good. I’ve sat down and spoken to him and broken down the script a little bit. I definitely like his take on it. I think it’s going to be good.” Ashley explained that she thinks Slade is going to take the third film into a darker direction. “I think it’ll be different, I think it’s going to be a battle between the studio and the director, and it’s going to be a hard balance, ’cause I think he’s … a little more focused on it being real and maybe it being gorier and a little dark and kind of dramatic.”
Ashley Greene added that just like the novel that sees the climactic battle of werewolves and vampires, Eclipse has more action that the first film and may just appeal even to guys. She added, “The first one was very focused on this love story and really sweet and it was beautiful, but it didn’t have a lot of stuff that guys would go, ‘Yeah, I want to go see that.’ There’s going to be a lot more focus on [action], and the fight scene will have more emphasis on it. I definitely think it will be a little more guy-friendly.”
