Janet Jackson wowed the crowd at the Video Music Awards when she paid tribute to her late brother Michael performing “Scream” along with a project of MJ on the big screen. Janet then released a single dedicated to Michael the following day.

As part of the dramatic opening of the show, which included a speech from Madonna, Janet Jackson paid tribute to her brother at the VMAs.

The following day, she continued her own tribute to Michael Jackson by posting a new single “Make Me” on her website. The song seems to be the first single for Janet’s upcoming album due in early 2010. The chorus of ‘Make Me’ pays tribute to MJ’s iconic 1979 solo single “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough.” On the chorus, Janet twists Michael’s refrain with the lyrics “Don’t stop ’til you get it up.”

On her Twitter page, Jackson explained the gift-wrapped look of the “Make Me” stream on her site saying, “Thank u for ur endless love n support! I hope u guys enjoyed us tonight. It was very special for me n I have a very special gift for all of u.”
