Michael Jackson’s family and around 200 of their closest friends gathered on a hill Thursday night for their final farewell to the King of Pop, who died 10 weeks ago.

Family and friends attended the burial of Michael Jackson at the Great Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Glendale Cemetery in Glendale, California on Thursday evening (September 3). Over two months of waiting for a funeral date, the King of Pop finally laid to rest around 7pm PST with close friends like Macaulay Culkin, Lisa Marie Presley, Chris Tucker, Corey Feldman, Elizabeth Taylor, Barry Bonds, Quincy Jones, Motown founder Berry Gordy and over 200 other friends who wished to say their final goodbyes.

According to a report by the Associated Press, “The closest the public will be able to get to Jackson’s vault is a portion of the mausoleum that displays ‘The Last Supper Window,’” with expert Lisa Burk explaining, “It’s impossible to get in there. It was before, and it will be worse now.”

Jackson’s five brothers carried MJ’s casket onto the outdoor stage, while his three children – Paris, Prince Michael and Blanket – placed a crown atop their father’s coffin. After an opening prayer by Pastor Lucius Smith, Gladys Knight and Clifton Davis sang for Michael. Joe Jackson and several close friends took the lectern to ‘celebrate Michal’s life.’

After the hour-long service, Michael’s family and friends made their way to an Italian restaurant in Pasadena for a “time of celebration.”
