Melanie Griffith has checked into a rehab facility again. This time, she checked in to “stay healthy.”
Griffith’s rep Robin Baum made a statement, saying “She is there to reinforce her commitment to stay healthy. This is part of a routine plan that was designed between her and her doctors years ago.”
The 52-year-old actress is staying at the Cirque Lodge in Utah. It is the third rehab for Griffith in the last several years. In 2000, Melanie released a statement that she was seeking treatment for a drug problem, saying “My doctor has referred me to the Daniel Freeman Hospital to step down from the prescribed medication that I have been taking for a neck injury.”
In another instance, Melanie Griffith posted a message on her website “Overcoming addictions is tough but it can be made easier if you have someone that can offer support. My husband [Antonio Banderas] and family supported me so much through this journey and continue to do so.”
According to Star magazine sources, husband Antonio Banderas demanded she get help:
The reason Melanie checked in was her husband was demanding that she get clean and sober. He told her that if she didn’t get the help she needed it would be the end of their marriage. Melanie’s struggling right now, but Antonio has been checking in on her as much as he is allowed, making sure she gets back on her feet. Without Antonio in her life, I honestly believe Melanie would be dead.
