The country music duo ‘Brooks & Dunn’ announced that working on music together has come to an end. But it isn’t a bitter end – Brooks & Dunn realized they’d begun to run out of ideas after 20 years of making hit country music together.
Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks, both songwriters and singers, had enjoyed solo careers in the 1980s, but only made it big when they were paired in 1990. As a duo, Brooks & Dunn released 10 studio albums, 2 greatest hits collections and a Christmas CD, all of which had produced charted singles. A third compilation album will be out on September 9.
From 1992 to 2006, Brooks & Dunn has won the ‘Best Duo’ award at the Country Music Assn Awards Fest, with the exception of 2000 when Montgomery Gentry won. From 1991-1997 and 2001-2008, Brooks & Dunn also won the ‘Top Duo’ with the Academy of Country Music. The duo is also a recipient of two Grammys (one in 1993 and again in 1996).
