Michael Jackson’s longtime friend Mark Lester claims he’s the father of MJ’s daughter Paris. The Oliver! Star said that he donated sperm to MJ in 1996 and is willing to take a DNA test to prove his the biological father of the girl.
Mark Lester is the godfather to Michael’s 3 kids – Prince Michael, Paris and Prince Michael II. Lester said, “It’s been a secret for so long. Michael asked me if I would give him my sperm and I said yes. It was a gift to him, no money was paid, and it was something I was honored to do. He wanted children so badly.”
The actor said he made the claims because of the resemblance of Paris and her own daughter Harriet. However, Lester said he had kept his sperm donation secret from his wife and family. He said he has come forward because he feared of being shut out of the children’s lives. He added, “With Michael’s mother, Katherine, now their legal guardian, it’s like the kids are being isolated. Up until Michael’s memorial I was in touch with them on a weekly basis. I’m the Godparent to them and Michael was Godparent to all my four kids. Our two families spent a lot of time together, and had a lot fun together. Now I’m not able to have any communication with the children. This isn’t what Michael would have wanted.”
Mark Lester is now a successful osteopath and acupuncture specialist. He first met Michael in 1981 and clicked instantly because both were child stars at the time.
As a godfather to three of MJ’s children, you can say that Michael really trusts Mark Lester with his kids. So, the question remains: Is he really speaking out to be the kid’s “godfather” and is concerned about their upbringing? Or is he just like the rest who are looking at the kids as their personal piggybank? Whatever intentions Mark Lester has for speaking up about his sperm donation, it would’ve been better if he just spoke to the Jacksons privately, than give details about his sperm donation to everyone in the world.
UPDATE: The Jacksons have denied rumors that Lester has claimed Paris as his daughter. A source close to the family said, “They twisted his words around. He’s not claiming to be the father of Paris Jackson.”
