What’s worse? Ryan O’Neal flirting at his supposedly love-of-his-life Farrah Fawcett’s funeral with another woman? Or the woman he hit on was O’Neal’s own daughter Tatum? Or that Ryan O’Neal was proud to tell this story – in print?
Vanity Fair features the life of Ryan O’Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett while together. In the interview, the 68-year-old Ryan O’Neil said that he failed to recognize his 45-year-old daughter Tatum when she approached him at Farrah’s funeral last month. Ryan O’Neal said, “I had just put the casket in the hearse and was watching it drive away, when a beautiful blonde woman comes up and embraces me. I said to her, ‘You have a drink on you? You have a car?’ She said, ‘Daddy, it’s me—Tatum!’ I was just trying to be funny with a strange Swedish woman, and it’s my daughter. It’s so sick.”
One can only hope that Ryan O’Neal made the story up when drunk, but Tatum herself confirmed the incident when Vanity Fair asked. She said, “That’s our relationship in a nutshell. You make of it what you will. It had been a few years since we’d seen each other and he was always a ladies’ man, a bon vivant.”
The entire interview with Ryan O’Neal, along with other statements from Farrah Fawcett’s closest friends and family, will be on the September issue of Vanity Fair.
