Are they back on? It may be just coincidental, but just a few days after Chris Brown released a video apologizing for his February assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna, the two R&B stars were seen spending a weekend in the same hotel in New York. So what’s the problem? Well, Chris Brown is restricted from seeing Rihanna due to an LA-issued restraining order.
Both Brown and Rihanna checked into the Trump International Hotel & Tower Friday, but the two were not spotted together. During the two-day stay, the two stars come and go in separate chauffeured vehicles, both with using decoy vehicles to avoid paparazzi. Neither singer had a performance or appearance scheduled in New York, but it has been reported that Rihanna is looking for a Manhattan apartment.
Chris Brown pleaded guilty to one count of felony assault and will be sentenced on August 5. Brown will probably be kept out of jail due to a plea bargain, but will more likely to complete 1,400 hours of community service and be required to attend domestic-violence counseling. Brown is also required by law to keep 50 yards away from Rihanna and 10 yards away if they’re performing at the same event. If Brown violates this order, he can be charged with a misdemeanor.
