There’s still no news about Paula Abdul’s contract renewal with American Idol. Apparently, there were reports that Jennifer Lopez is set to replace the Idol judge this season. JLo speaks up about the issue.
According to reports by People Magazine, a rep for JLo has said, “The rumor of Jennifer Lopez throwing herself in the ring to take over for Paula Abdul is completely false. Jennifer loves Idol but just as a fan. She just wrapped the feature film The Back-Up Plan, due out January 2010, and will release an album then as well.”
The rumor surfaced after JLo, who just turned 40 on Friday, met up with American Idol host Ryan Seacrest and had dinner at the Madeo in LA earlier this month. It’s all Ryan’s fault actually. When bugged by paparazzi outside Madeo, Ryan told them, “Jennifer and Paula would be a hell of a combination” on the show. Nice going Seacreast.
