Stephen Baldwin has just filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in New York Tuesday. As it turns out, Baldwin is in debt of more than a whopping $2.3 million.

The 43-year-old Stephen Baldwin, who starred in films like “The Usual Suspects” and “Bio-Dome,” filed court documents that showed he and his wife Kennya owes more than $2 million.

Aside from $70,000 in credit card debt and over $1 million in taxes, Baldwin also owes $1.2 million on two mortgages for their home in Rockland County, New York. Stephen bought the 1.4-acre lot in 1997 for $515,000. The actor and his wife tried selling the house in 2006, but after an unsuccessful try, they defaulted on over $824,000 in payments to their mortgage. An auction for his home was originally scheduled for July 24, but was rescheduled today.

Stephen Baldwin recently appeared on two reality shows - “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!” and “The Celebrity Apprentice.” He is one of the many celebrities who were hit with the recession and are also experiencing financial problems.
