Jamie Waylett, who plays the bully VIncent Crabbe in the Harry Potter films, has just been sentenced to complete community service after pleading guilty of growing cannabis plants in his mom’s London home.
Fortunately for Harry Potter fans, Waylett won’t be jailed. The Wesminster Magistrates’ Court has ordered him to completed 120 hours of unpaid work.
Waylett was arrested taking a picture of officers while he and his friendJohn Innis was driving. The police then seized the camera with them, which revealed pictures of cannabis plants, leading to a search warrant for his home. There, police found 10 cannabis plants that used a sophisticated growing system.
District Judge Timothy Workman, who sentenced Waylett, said, “I give you credit for pleading guilty at the earliest opportunity, your co-operation with police and the fact that you are, until now, a man of good character.”
Leaving the court, Waylett said: “I extend my sincere apologies to the producers, cast and crew and all at Warners and most especially to all Harry Potter fans.”
