The start of production for Mischa Barton’s new drama on CW “The Beautiful Life” was supposed to begin on July 22. Now,the production start has now been pushed back to July 31, a week from its original date.

Just last week, Mischa Barton reportedly had a meltdown and was involuntarily hospitalized by the police Wednesday night. However, sources close to the production of the show claimed that the reason for the delay is not related to Barton’s condition. Instead, some of the show’s sets were not completed on time for the shoot.

But with Mischa Barton still at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center under an involuntary psychiatrict hold, her situation on the show remains unclear. Ironically, “Beautiful Life” has been getting more pre-launch publicity because of Barton’s medical condition.

Ashton Kutcher is the executive producer behind “Beautiful Life.” The show revolves around a group of models living together under a New York city home. On the series, Barton plays a veteran supermodel struggling to keep on top and is in danger of being phased out. “Beautiful Life” was originally scheduled to premiere Sept. 16, right after “America’s Next Top Model.”
