Los Angeles, Calif.-Lindsay Lohan has been a proud endorser of her own tanning spray, Sevin Nyne, but someone insists she stole the product’s formula.
In a news headline from The St. Petersburg Times, Lohan and business partner Lorit Simon are accused of stealing the formula of tanning product Sevin Nyne, which is the actress’ own tanning-spray line. Lohan introduced the product to the market and claimed that she co-created the said spray with Simon.
The lawsuit was filed by chemist Jennifer Sunday, a chemist who runs White Wave International Labs. According to Sunday, Lorit, who previously had negotiated with the company over samples of the tanning spray, but they never settled on an amount.
“The next thing we know, Lorit Simon and Lindsay Lohan are partnering and Ms. Lohan is taking credit for developing this formula, which indeed she has no role in,” says Sunday’s lawyer, Marcia Cohen.
Lohan and Simon are being charged with accounts of breach of contract, theft of trade secrets, intentional interference with contractual relations, civil conspiracy and deceptive and unfair trade practices.
Reps for Lohan and Simon are not yet available for comments. The young star however gave a response through Twitter, saying:
“No formula was stolen for Sevin Nyne. It’s a woman looking for a payday. That’s it!”
