Los Angeles, Calif.-Debbie Rowe will not be attending her ex-husband, Michael Jackson’s funeral on Tuesday, contrary to earlier reports that she will be present in the late pop star’s memorial.

“Although Debbie had originally planned to attend tomorrow’s Staples Center memorial service, we have concluded with Debbie that she will not be attending,” says a rep for Jackson’s ex-wife.

“The onslaught of media attention has made it clear her attendance would be an unnecessary distraction to an event that should focus exclusively on Michael’s legacy,” the rep continues in a released statement. “Debbie will continue to celebrate Michael’s memory privately.”

Debbie is the mother of Michael’s two older children, Prince Michael, 12, and Paris, 11. Blanket, 7, Michael’s youngest child, was born from an unnamed surrogate.
