London, England-The “Material Girl” Madonna is set to pay her good friend, the late Michael Jackson, a special tribute in her concerts she is scheduled to have at the London’s O2 Arena this weekend.
The concerts, which are scheduled on July 4 and 5, will begin with a special song and dance number in homage to the late pop icon, says her rep, Liz Rosenberg.
Madonna and Michael were not only good friends, but were two pillars that made 1980s a cultural phenomenon via their songs, dance moves, fashion trends and news reports.
Among their famous stints together was when they attended the Academy Awards together back in 1991.
The King of Pop was supposed to hit a series of concerts at the same venue where Madonna will be doing her concerts, beginning July 13.
Madonna was deeply saddened by Michael’s death, an according to her statement, she could not stop crying upon learning the sad news.
“I have always admired Michael Jackson… The world has lost one of the greats, but his music will live on forever! My heart goes out to his three children and other members of his family… God bless.”
