Chicago, Ill.-After dining at a Chicago restaurant, Johnny Depp gave a patient, efficient yet unassuming water one generous tip.
Depp was in Chicago together with co-star Marion Cotillard, director Michael Mann, and a few other friends for the movie premiere of their gangster movie “Public Enemies.” After the premiere they headed to Gibsons Steakhouse at around 11:30 PM to have late dinner and some chat.
When the bill was served at 2:30 AM, which totaled to around $4,400, the actor made sure that the waiter who patiently served their order at such a late time was equally compensated for his time and effort. Mohammed A. Sekhani, the waiter who catered Depp and his friends’ favors, was given a sweet $4,000 tip.
According to the waiter, Depp has already visited the restaurant a number of times during the filming of “Public Enemies.” He also added that the actor promised to drop by after the premiere.
Sekhani, who has worked for the restaurant for several years, has waited for other notable personalities such as Robert De Niro and Sean Connery. But he says Johnny Depp is his favorite-as he is one “very humble guy and a really cool dude.”
Depp’s reps have made no comment about the issue.
