Los Angeles, Calif.-After more than two decades of being an on-and-off couple and once domestic partners, Ryan O’Neal reveals that he now plans in marrying his longtime lover, Farrah Fawcett, who is fighting for life against cancer.

In an interview with Barbara Walters’ “20/20,” Ryan said that he already asked the love of his life to marry him and that “she’s agreed.” The wedding will take place “as soon as she can say yes.”

Farrah was diagnosed with anal cancer back in 2006, and after a series of treatments which took several months, she was said to be cancer free. The cancer however came back and has spread into her liver, and is currently struggling to overcome the disease.

Farrah and Ryan, who have been one of Hollywood’s longtime lovers, have a 24-year old son, Redmond.
