Los Angeles, Calif.-Adam Lambert’s debut is coming to stores earlier than the target date. Why?
Hi Fi Recordings and Wilshire Records just announced the summer release of Lambert’s “On With The Show.” The album is made up of the songs the “Idol” runner-up recorded during the beginning of his singing career, and this is not among the projects the rocker crooner is endorsing at the moment.
“Back in 2005 when I was a struggling artist, I was hired as a studio singer to lend my vocals to tracks written by someone else. I was broke at the time and this was my chance to make a few bucks, so I jumped at the opportunity to record for my first time in a professional studio,” Adam explains in a statement released on Friday.
“Want,” the first single of the album, was released on Friday, and Lambert’s singing vocals overshadowed the guitar pop accompaniment, which sounded a bit like Snow Patrol or The Fray.
But while this album contains all the tracks he recorded, Lambert focuses his energy rather on his RCA Records debut, which is due this fall.
