Angelina Jolie: “I Give My Children an Education of the World”

With six children under their guidance, how do Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt raise their brood?

Jolie discussed a part of her parenting skills to CNN’s Anderson Cooper, which included teaching her kids about a few of the world’s current issues.

“Some of my kids are from countries that have seen conflict,” says Angelina, who’s currently a Goodwill Ambassador of the UNHCR. “I usually just explain to them that there are other families in the world that aren’t as fortunate as ours and other kids and their mommies… are somewhat in a country that’s not as safe… so I tell them that it’s important for all of us to do what we can and then go to these places and understand what’s happening.”

In order for her kids to learn more about the troubles some countries in the world are facing, Angelina sometimes takes them to visit these places. Being in these places helps a lot in increasing their awareness despite their young age, and she makes it a point to raise her kids with greater consciousness on what’s happening to people across the globe.

“Hopefully I’ll take them to as many countries as I can and raise them with an education of the world,” Angelina says. “I believe this will make them better people as they get older.”
